Are you passionate about co-designing library services and programs with your community?

CALL wants your voice in creating a toolkit to help library workers across the state enhance equity and inclusion by co-creating with their communities.

In this participatory workshop, you will test and give feedback on draft ideas and materials co-developed by a previous cohort, and develop your own new insights. Your engagement will help create a long-lasting tool that will have an equity-enhancing impact on libraries and communities throughout California.

All levels of experience and all roles are welcome.

Presenter:

Dr. Audrey Barbakoff is a passionate public library leader, consultant, speaker, and author. She has over a decade of experience as a librarian and manager in public libraries, ranging from a tiny rural library in Connecticut to a 50-branch system in Washington state. Her innovative library work has been recognized by Library Journal Movers & Shakers, the Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal "40 Under 40", the Freedom to Read Foundation, and the Urban Libraries Council. Holding a doctorate in organizational change and leadership, her dissertation research focused on building capacity for equity, diversity, and inclusion in public libraries through community-led planning. This served as the foundation for her innovative CoLaB (Community Led Capacity-Building) process, soon to be featured in her forthcoming book Twelve Steps to a Community-Led Library.

This workshop is being offered on multiple days. Participants only need to join one session.
