During the Spring, California Revealed hosts free workshops to 'demystify' the digitization process, discuss preservation best practices, and promote resources to meet your collection goals. We invite those who are interested in saving state history as part of a "community of practice" of collections keepers and caretakers, library workers, and community members.
There will be time for Q&A, including a hands-on cataloging activity with sample materials using our metadata guidelines. The presentation and activity are designed to generate collaborative feedback for any organization's collection needs and inspire a road map for long-term preservation. Complimentary working refreshments will be provided.
Tentative dates are subject to change. No experience or education level required to attend. This can be a great opportunity for students, new librarians or archivists focused on collections, and volunteers at heritage organizations – in addition to seasoned archivists and collection stewards!
Register here to confirm your spot at a local workshop and receive the latest updates.
