Six-week Course | January 6 - February 16, 2025
There is much discussion in the professional world today about the intersection between mental health and workplace culture. Most Americans spend at least 40 hours per week in the workplace setting, which means that work is an integral part of our lives. If any part of our regular environment is toxic, it will have long-term negative effects on our emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical wellbeing.
In every workplace setting, there are common stressors that, when paired with the stressors in employees’ personal lives, and when not supported properly by leadership, can lead to burnout, low productivity, and, ultimately, turnover.
In this course, you will learn why a trauma informed leadership model is important for library leaders, and how to implement the model into every aspect of your role as a leader. You will also learn how to utilize an empathetic leadership approach which is versatile and applicable to all staff personality types and situations.
