Event Details
Three-session Cohort | April 21, 23, & 24 | 10:00 am - 11:00 am
This cohort helps staff respond when patrons arrive with AI-generated “research” that may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading—or when AI is used to amplify misinformation and disinformation through polished but false content.
Participants learn to recognize common issues—hallucinations, outdated claims, missing sources, and overconfident tone—and to apply structured evaluation methods. We practice verification strategies, compare AI-assisted search approaches, and discuss how to guide patrons toward responsible, evidence-based use in today’s information environment.
What to expect:
- Tuesday, 4/21: Intro + Q&A (60 min): Recorded for later viewing
- Thursday, 4/23: Optional Office Hour / Open Lab (60+ min): Not recorded (to encourage open dialogue)
- Friday, 4/24: Follow-up Discussion + Reflections (60 min): Not recorded (to encourage open dialogue)
