In 2024, former Utah Library Association President and Let Utah Read Co-Founder Rebekah Cummings became the first librarian to run for Lt. Governor on a major party ticket in the United States.

Join Rebekah as she shares a deeply personal account of her experience as a first-time candidate and librarian running for statewide public office. Grounded in a framework of “lessons learned” from the campaign trail, attendees will hear a practical and inspirational message on battling imposter syndrome, fundraising, messaging, boundaries, and finding new ways to define success. Additionally, Rebekah will discuss how our librarian training, experience, and values make us uniquely and wonderfully suited for public office.

Whether you are looking for a dose of courage or practical tips for stepping into leadership, this talk is sure to engage and inspire you to show up as your most courageous self in 2025 and beyond!
