Event Details
Time Commitment: 4 hours
This course is designed for public and academic library directors, security heads, and administrators, and is a continuation of our in-person and online Summits. Building from previous safety conferences and courses, this course will explore practical ways to create safer libraries by supporting mental health issues, recognizing and managing substance abuse, navigating the divide regarding perceptions and use of police, and more.
This online course will continue the conversation about best practices to build and maintain a culture of safety from within and outside the library field. We’ll explore and workshop effective approaches and real-life examples of safety solutions and discuss how to approach safety from a trauma-informed and equity-centered commitment.
