In the ever-expanding world of mis, dis, and malinformation, the public library has a role to play in helping to guide patrons to reliable sources. This webinar will highlight myriad programs that encourage critical thinking and skills to identify false reporting. Starting with something as simple as a display and ending with a digital adventure, participants will get a review of 10 ideas to address media literacy as well as tools and outlines that will help them get started right away.

Presenter Bio: Morgan Rose Pershing, MLIS, is an adjunct professor for San Jose State University’s School of Information and an instructor for the American Library Association’s eLearning program. In her 20 years in libraries, Morgan has held positions from intern to manager and has served every age group. She is the recipient of the California Library Association’s Member of the Year award (2018) and recently published the article “Considering Community Partnerships and New Projects: Advice from the Field” in Journal of Library Administration.
