According to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), one in five Americans has a mental illness, and the COVID-19 pandemic dramatically increased depression and anxiety symptoms in people who are reluctant to seek help or do not know where to turn for care. Libraries can be a part of the solution by providing training in how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges in their friends, neighbors and coworkers. MHFA does not teach individuals how to diagnose or treat mental illness or substance use, but it equips them with crucial skills for providing assistance.

CALL is offering the opportunity for library workers to be certified as Instructors in the Adult and Youth MHFA curriculum. This is a unique chance, but it does require a commitment to 3 days of training. Learn more at MHFA and on the CALL blog. This is a time sensitive opportunity, so please apply as soon as possible. You will have the chance to choose your preferred training dates in the application form.

There are a limited number of seats available for this training opportunity.

This is a CALL Exclusive.
