Program Description

Event Details

In this webinar, participants will learn practical components and strategies for engaging with and “speaking” to positional power and influence. First, we will explore how awareness is strategic and how successful interactions begin with self-awareness and situational awareness. Next, participants will see how “plating problems with solutions” helps set the table for the discussion and provides an opportunity to be positioned as a thoughtful, solution-oriented leader. Lastly, we’ll explore the importance of presence through active listening, thoughtful feedback, and engaged body language as well as the importance of patience and managing expectations as strategies.

Learning Outcomes:

In this webinar, participants will explore three key strategies for “speaking” to positional
power and influence: building awareness, offering solutions, and cultivating presence and patience.

    a. Self-awareness: Start with intentions and desired results.
    b. Situational awareness: Understand how timing, audience and approach impact the engagement.
  2. Plate problems with solutions
    a. Understand the importance of preparation, including data and larger context.
    b. Positioning as a thoughtful solution-oriented leader and strategic partner.
  3. Presence and patience – Three components of presence: Active listening, thoughtful feedback, and
engaged body language. Patience: Getting comfortable with accepting time needed for consideration
and allowing space for thoughtful responses.
