CALL HomegrownAttending the CLA Conference this year? Be sure to stop by for CALL's presentation, Sustaining Employees and Community Connections with CALL: Onboarding and Trustee Toolkits.

Sustainable library systems and thriving communities rest on confident, competent staff and trustees. This session features two toolkits developed by California Libraries Learn (CALL) to help you develop quality staff and trustees. The free staff Onboarding Academy provides an outline, foundational resources and additional training that can be customized for your library. The Onboarding Template helps libraries that may be understaffed, underfunded, and in need of sustainable solutions for hiring challenges. The simple framework in the Academy serves new staff and current employees, with customizable topics including ethics statements, mission, strategic goals, policies, and procedures. You’ll also learn about the new Trustee Toolkit and website (https://calibtrustees.org/), including special digital elements designed to support library directors. Find out how you can easily access and implement these helpful and time-saving resources in your library.

CALL staff, Lisa Barnhart, Gina Robinson, and Tamar Kirschner will also be on hand to discuss your library's training needs and additional resources available to all California Library staff.
