Even the best wordsmiths can feel like the line between what to say and what not to say keeps changing. How can you make people feel welcome and express yourself without saying the “wrong” thing? What makes anything the “wrong" thing to say in the first place?  Linguist Mackenzie Price will present on how to get un-stuck when it comes to choosing the right words. This 45-minute workshop will give real-life examples of how to bring respectful, effective and inclusive language into California’s libraries.

Presenter Bio: Dr. Mackenzie Price has coached fundraisers, educators, researchers, students, administrators, advertisers and human resource professionals on how to express respect, equity and inclusion in their communication.

This event is brought to you by CALL.
