In this presentation, learn how to roll out (pun intended) a library bike in your community.
Attendees will gather strategies for planning and implementing a book bike program in your library.
Topics covered will include:
- book bike vendors
- pros and cons of front cargo vs. rear cargo bikes
- bike safety training for library staff
- planning for bike maintenance
- and suggestions for bike programming
Presenter:
Oscar Gittemeier currently serves on the San Diego Public Library executive team as the Program Manager for the Division of Innovation & Community Engagement. He received a BA in sociology, an MA in Women’s Studies, and a master’s degree in library and information science, with a certificate in leadership and management, from Florida State University. Oscar is a graduate of the Georgia Public Library Service PINNACLE Leadership Institute and serves as cochair of the Public Library Association EDISJ Committee.
