Mis, dis, malinformation, oh my!
As content writers and social media turn towards appealing to emotions instead of facts, the public library has a role to play in helping to guide patrons to reliable information. This webinar will serve as a refresher on information literacy for staff and provide tools for improved clarity in this opaque environment. We’ll talk about strategies for evaluating information, trusted sources (and what makes one), and practical tips on how to speak to your patrons.
If you want to learn even more about this topic don't miss the second part to this webinar: Media Literacy: 10 Program Ideas on April 10th at 10:00 am.
Presenter Bio: Morgan Rose Pershing, MLIS, is an adjunct professor for San Jose State University’s School of Information and an instructor for the American Library Association’s eLearning program.
