Webinar Series (Can be experienced separately or as a series for Neurodivergent Leadership.)

As more information about neurodivergence, particularly autism and ADHD, is being learned, we have a responsibility to ensure our leaders are able to continue to grow their skills in working with neurodivergent folks.

Both webinars will cover topics like setting boundaries, scripts for self-advocacy, popular tools and tricks for meeting neurotypical work needs in a way that supports a neurodiverse employee, and how to offer support without burning yourself out. Questions sent in advance are welcomed to ensure the webinar meets the needs of the attendees. You may attend one or both webinars.

Neurodivergent Leadership: This is Me | April 11, 2024 @ 9:00 am

Neurodivergent Leadership: This Is Me is for people who are leaders or future leaders and who hold a neurodivergent (ND) identity. We’ll cover:

  • what strengths (ND) leaders bring to the workplace

  • what additional challenges ND leaders may experience

  • how to establish tools and routines that will provide additional support

  • how to navigate a neurotypical environment while safely advocating for your needs


Neurodivergent Leadership: This is My Team | April 25, 2024 @ 9:00 am

Neurodivergent Leadership: This is My Team is for any leader or future leader who wants more information about how to work well with ND employees. We’ll cover:

  • how to avoid ableism and ableist language

  • setting up systems for ensuring additional sensory or processing needs are met

  • some of the benefits and challenges of having ND folks in your workplace

  • addressing behavior issues that impact performance

Presenter Bio: Jess Jupitus (she/they) is the library director for Tempe Public Library. Jess has worked almost 20 years in public libraries including Las Vegas, Sacramento, and Solano County, in a variety of positions. She has also been a presenter at local and national conferences, webinars for ALA, and honestly wherever invited. Both as an autistic person herself and having supported autistic staff members, Jess has a lot of information on how to navigate library spaces and workplace expectations when on the spectrum.
